This position holds responsibility for Wairoa Hospital & Health Centre and the multiple services they provide, including the management of Nursing, Health Care Associates, Midwives, and Allied health staff.In this position, you will work in partnership with the Hospital and Health Centre Manager and Clinical Medical Lead to manage the Hospital and Health Care centre. You will be supported by the Rural and Localities Manager and the Director of Nursing.We are a largely Maori community; your understanding of the healthcare and cultural needs of Maori, and the need to put this at the centre of all you do, is vital to this role. We provide a 24/7 emergency service, a nine-bed acute ward, outpatient department, maternity and community teams. We work closely with other providers, including a large General Practice located within the same facility.In Wairoa, you will enjoy nursing in its purest form - providing care for our small, tight-knit community in a compassionate, culturally in-tune way.
