The Nurse Manager at Athenree Life leads a team of registered nurses, health care assistants, diversional therapist/ activity coordinators, administrative staff, housekeeping staff, maintenance staff and other ancillary staff, towards ensuring:This is a full time job, usual schedule is Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm. About Athenree Life: Athenree Life is a 43 bed facility offering rest home, hospital level, memory care, day stay and respite services for older people. Our home is located right beside the calming and scenic Shelly Bay Estuary in a quiet tree-lined neighborhood. We are one of five aged care homes owned and proactively managed by Sound Care Group. Our team members share a true passion for caring, anchored on the following values:C - Competence A – Authenticity R - Respect E - Empathy Tasks and Responsibility:StrategicPlans and implements ongoing care direction compliant with Ministry of Health (MOH) contracts, and maintains relationships with these and other allied agencies and health care professionalsMaintains both clinical and non-clinical aspects of running the facility to a standard that meets the requirements of certification and surveillance audits conducted by the MOHLeads and supports the team to deliver a level of care consistent with the Group's CARE Values of Competence, Authenticity, Respect and EmpathyDelivery of CareEnsures safe, efficient and effective nursing practice through the day-to-day support and direction of staff members, liaison with and attending to the concerns of residents and their family members, and the performance of administrative dutiesEnsures InterRai Assessments are completed and comprehensive care plans are written for each resident and that these are evaluated at least 6 monthly or when changes occurEnsures care staff adhere to the care plans, and are always working towards positive outcomes in the overall wellbeing of the residentThe needs of residents are met through the delivery of safe, holistic and professional nursing careOversees medication administration and ensure staff competence is tested and signed offOperationalMaintains a high standard of housekeeping servicesMaintains thorough knowledge of and implements all administrative procedures Be on call as requiredBe responsible for notifications to appropriate authorities, i.e., coroner, police, Worksafe.Promotes a healthy and safe environment in the facility for staff, residents, family members, and visitorsQuality and Continuous ImprovementWorks with the team to design and implement quality improvement programmes for the facility, ensuring a high standard of documentation that monitor and assess outcomesContinuous quality improvement across both clinical and governance aspects of the facilityEnsures adequate staff coverage of the facility and implements a relevant continuing education programme for all staffAttends relevant training programmes, participates in and conducts performance reviewsRequirements:4+ years in aged care or disabilities, with 1 year in a team lead/management roleFamiliar with Nga Paerewa Health and Disability StandardsExperience with NZ health care facility audits is a plusNZ nursing registration with a current practising certificateCommitted to enhancing the lives of older peopleStrong collaboration skills with diverse teamsEffective communication with residents and staff of different ethnicitiesResponsible, accountable, and adaptableExcellent leadership, delegation, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsGood physical fitnessFull NZ driver license and work rightsIf this role interests you or you had questions regarding this position, please reach out to the recruitment manager at ****** with your cover letter and resume or hit the "Quick Apply" button.  Your application will include the following questions: How many years' experience do you have as a Nurse Manager?
