About the Role
This is a permanent 0.6FTE (48 hours / fortnight) designated
Senior Nursing role based at Nelson Hospital.
Nurse educators are a key component to improving
the experience of consumers by supporting the provision of a confident,
evidence based approach. A large component of this
role will be ensuring that education, professional development, clinical
coaching and clinical quality systems are in place within and across the
services to enhance care delivery.

About you
The successful candidate will contribute to the
workforce and professional development across the wider organisation and will
work collaboratively alongside the wider nurse educator team.
Improving outcomes for patients and whanau by ensuring a
responsive, compassionate, and safe experience.
Prioritising equity, critical thinking and
escalation pathways.
Being an effective member of the nursing and MDT teams to strengthen our
integrated model of care to best meet the needs of the patient in our care.
Improving
the experience for health care consumers, including their family and whanau by supporting the professional
development of clinical staff who participate in the care of the patient.
Competency
with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your
journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
Experience
in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and
frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori
approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
Key
contributor to the ongoing professional development growing of the nursing the
nursing workforce.
You
will be an experienced senior registered nurse with a current APC and:
NZRC
CORE Instructor qualification
Clinical
Masters Degree, or equivalent, completed or in progress
Previous
Nursing Education programme development experience
Adult
Education Diploma completed or in progress
Current
Portfolio Expert
Proven ability to lead/ participate in Quality
Improvement activities related to resuscitation practice
Proven ability to facilitate and deliver the CPR
education programme.
