New Entry to Practice (NETP) programmeDistrict wide focus across the Nelson and Marlborough regions, requiring travel.12-month, fixed-term 1.0 FTE position working 80 hours/fortnight (Monday to Friday)Be part of Te Whatu Ora team, and strategically contribute to the realisation of Pae Ora.Are you flexible, progressive and able to extend and develop the Nursing New Entry to Practice Programme (NETP)?Take advantage of this opportunity to have a greater impact on patient outcomes by having a key role in workforce development.Nga mohiohio e paana ki tenei mahi (About this position)The Nurse Educator NETP is a key member of the Te Whatu Ora Nelson Marlborough's strategic development workforce team.This district-wide role will work collaboratively alongside all areas, within our region, that have employed a New Entry to Practice (NETP) nurse including primary health organisations, secondary services, Maori health providers and aged care facilities.As a Nurse Educator NETP, you will be pivotal in the professional development of our new graduate workforce.
You will lead the development of this new role and will support the transition to competence for our new practitioners.You will coach and educate staff to their best potential resulting in improved experiences for our health consumers.
You will work alongside the nursing and clinical teams to lead and develop ongoing educational strategies that develop the confidence and competence of our graduates in their first year of practice.Ko wai he kaitono totika?

)You will:Have a commitment to improving health outcomes for our community.Bring a comprehensive knowledge of the nursing workforce and support the development of the sustainable, diverse, skilled, and confident nurses of the future.Understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and lead this in daily practice.Bring a sound understanding of key issues contributing to Maori health inequalities and a genuine commitment to improved Maori and Pacifica health outcomes.Have a commitment to embed a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement, innovation in the new graduates undertaking their first year of practice.Be an experienced, resilient and adaptable registered nurse with a current practicing certificate and extensive nursing experience.Have excellent communication and engagement skills, and you will have demonstrated your ability to understand and to teach adults in both formal and informal settings.Have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of team members to achieve excellent programme outcomes.Have a current Expert portfolio (or working towards) and a Certificate in Adult Teaching Level 4, as well as Masters of Nursing level post-graduate education or working towards (essential).It would also be an asset if you had an established understanding of, and network within, our local health communities.A matou ropu (About our team)Te Whatu Ora, Health NZ (Nelson Marlborough), is the main health provider for the Te Tau Ihu, the top of the south.
