Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Nocturnist Hospitalist Position at Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti New Zealand 1.0 FTE
Turanganui-a-Kiwa (Gisborne) is a small city of 50,000 people located in the first place to see the light in the world. The area is rich in natural beauty, surrounded by world-class surf breaks and enjoys a Mediterranean climate. This is a place for those seeking a more laid-back lifestyle with access to outdoor activities at the doorstep. With no traffic lights in town, home to work to other activities is only a short distance apart so you can enjoy life outside of a commute.
The 100-bed hospital is staffed with senior and junior doctors and does the basics well. More complex, critically ill patients are cared for at a tertiary centre. As a nocturnist, you will work 40 hours a week 10pm-8am assisting junior doctors with admissions and acute issues. Procedural skills are required though this is not a heavy workload. Salary is based on years of experience.
If you have always dreamed of working in another country, New Zealand is a great place to be.
