NIGHT SHIFT TIMBER DRYING OPERATOR

An opportunity has arisen for Timber Drying Operator to join the Red Stag Timber team based at Waipa Mill, just 5 minutes south of Rotorua CBD.

Full free training will be provided for the right candidate to gain a specialist industry qualification and complete the New Zealand Certificates in Timber Drying Level 3 and Level 4.

The hours of work will be a "4 On : 4 Off" sliding Night Shift roster which includes some weekends. Normal work hours are 6.00pm to 6.00am, including breaks. Initial training will be on a Monday – Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm roster until the candidate is capable of running a shift independently.

A school record with minimum L2 passes in NCEA English and Maths, a reliable work record, and physical fitness to meet the demands of the role are basic requirements. Effective communication and initiative are expected with experience operating machinery, forklifts, loaders, or industrial equipment an advantage.

The role is required to operate a small loader and therefore a current full NZ driver's licence is required.

Other duties include:

Monitoring the drying process

Maintenance of timber drying equipment

Operation of computerised management system

General teamwork with other operators

A full pre-employment medical & drug screening will be required for the successful candidate.
