Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
5+ years of professional or military experience

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The ANZ Specialist team partners with our field sales and solution architect teams to support our customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

We are seeking an experienced Business Development (BD) specialist to drive awareness of new AWS services in region, working within one of Australia and New Zealand's most innovative companies.

As an experienced business developer, you will lead, develop and execute a go-to-market plan for new service introduction in Australia and New Zealand. With an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple teams, your responsibilities will include finding strategic partners, engaging cross-functional teams, and building business and technical relationships with customers to create significant new opportunity pipelines.
You will enable the AWS Sales teams to creatively accelerate their opportunities with key prospects and you will work with AWS and partner Solutions Architects and Professional Services teams to develop and promote resilience and security best-practices, identify and implement new service adoption incentive programs.
You will work with the AWS product and services teams to help identify and escalate service and feature gaps to drive regional service adoption, addressing issues, concerns, and requests from customers and the field.
The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think creatively, strategically and long-term about the outcomes customers are striving to achieve. Your experience in technology service launches will enable you to identify additional use cases where region-specific services can accelerate customer value. This includes analysing adoption data and churn patterns to evolve how region specific services are taken to market and building programs and guiding marketing on how to respond to maximise adoption.
The role is focused on helping customers, partners and internal sales teams understand the use cases services in specific regions such as lower latency, data residency preference, and cross-region resilience, and get started quickly with accelerated landing zone deployment and workload placement strategies. As the aligned specialist for new service launches, you will help customers across Australia and New Zealand.
Key job responsibilities:
Build specific go-to-market messaging for new region-specific services working closely with marketing, field teams and solution architects;
Evaluating and improving data on service adoption, feature requests and sales pipeline to improve the go-to-market approach;
Develop and execute specific programs working closely with internal teams and stakeholders including sales, solution architecture, cloud economics, marketing, & partner teams, professional services, support teams, legal & contract teams, and the AWS service specialist teams;
Build the BD pipeline by engaging with prospects, partners, and existing customers to accelerate, qualify and close the biggest regional service adoption opportunities;
Understand the unique business & technical requirements of customers and work closely with the internal specialist cloud services teams to guide direction on our product offerings for our customers;
Meet monthly, quarterly and yearly targets set for region-specific service adoption (pipeline and revenue);
Prepare and present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to target attainment for region-specific services, escalating large opportunities at risk;
Travel between Melbourne, Auckland and Sydney at least monthly.
A day in the life:
Meet with customers and partners to understand adoption patterns, gathering themes together to adjust the next iteration of the go-to-market, program and event plan. Discuss the same opportunities with supporting AWS account teams, enterprise support, service specialist teams, cloud economics and partner teams to fine tune proposals and investment strategies. Share updates on product and feature availability and celebrate with the extended team in a collaborative and hybrid working environment.
