Salary : $23.65 hour for first three months, which will increase at 3 months to $24.20 per hour

About the role
Need a job that keeps you active? Meter reading might be for you. We read power, gas, and water meters across the region. You'll travel through different areas of Marlborough Region including Picton, Blenheim, Waihopai Valley, Wairau valley, Seddon, and Kaikoura, meeting people (and maybe pets) along the way, rain or shine.
What You'll Do
Work Hours : Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4-5 PM. We contract for 20 hours to account for day-to-day fluctuations with route completion, but the average work week is 35-40 hours with overtime flexible.
Tasks : Drive to different areas, walk from meter to meter - reading power, gas, and water meters, read meters accurately, and record readings on a handheld device.
Customer Service : Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Safety : Follow safety procedures at all times.
Requirements
Driver's License : Full license required.
Legal Right to Work : Must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
Drug and Background Check : Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol tests and a MOJ check with no criminal convictions.
What We're Looking For
Physical Fitness : You should be able to walk 5-6km a day, climb in and out of a car frequently, walk on uneven ground, and reach or bend to read meters.
Outdoor Readiness : Be prepared to work outside in any weather.
Strength : Comfortable lifting up to 20kg.
Comfort Around Dogs : Many homes have pets, so being comfortable around dogs is important.
