My client is a major hardware and home improvement business within the DIY and trade-building sector. On their behalf, I am looking for a strategic Inventory Manager to be at the forefront of their operations. You will be responsible for shaping the inventory strategy, improving productivity, and ensuring seamless in-store and offsite stock management for the business! About the role: Overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including inwards goods processes, stock flow, replenishment, and data integrity. Developing and implementing strategic processes and controls to optimize inventory control, minimise shrinkage, and maximise stock availability. Analysing inventory data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced stock availability. Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory records through regular audits, reconciliation, and proactive problem-solving. Reviewing and recommending improvements to existing inventory processes for enhanced efficiency and accuracy. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline purchasing processes, minimise stock discrepancies, and maximise operational efficiency. Monitoring inventory levels, forecast demand, and coordinating replenishment activities to prevent stockouts and minimise excess inventory holding costs. About you: You have extensive inventory management experience within a retail environment, ideally big box retail (exposure to a large SKU count would be advantageous). You have experience leading and developing teams and have the ability to manage a team of eight staff across the purchasing, inventory, and inwards goods departments. You are a detail-oriented, strategic thinker with effective negotiation skills. You are an analytical, strategic thinker with effective problem-solving abilities paired with proven experience in maximising a retail space in order to generate maximum return. You are an engaged, self-starter with the confidence to take the reins of the inventory management function across the store.
