About the Role
Tumanako is a 29 bed purpose-built unit that cares for adults over the age of 18 who live in the Northland area. We have a multidisciplinary team who work closely together to create a supportive and recovery-focused environment for our Whaiora. We are also committed to quality improvement, staff wellbeing, and working collaboratively across services.
About You
This position would ideally suit a person who is creative, energetic, flexible, well-organised, and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants are responsible for planning and delivering a structured activities programme on the unit. You may have a background in Diversional Therapy, qualifications in sports and recreation, or possess other applicable skills and experience in working with small groups. We provide a varied activities programme which includes arts and crafts, music, cultural-focused activities, sports, and leisure/recreational activities. Experience in mental health is preferred though not essential.
This is a full-time rostered position consisting of 12-hour rostered shifts commencing at 7am – 7pm and requires a full driver's license.
