About the Role We are looking for an experienced medical transcriptionist to support the gastroenterology service based at Dunedin Hospital. This role will provide an opportunity to demonstrate outstanding coordination skills, work autonomously, and use your initiative. It involves high levels of administration tasks and interfacing with a large multidisciplinary team.
You will be dealing with patient information to transcribe operation notes and clinical letters within certain timeframes. The work is fast-paced, requiring strict adherence to deadlines. Confidence with technology is essential, including familiarity with computer systems and Dictaphones, along with the ability to type accurately with high attention to detail. Discretion is crucial as you will have access to sensitive patient information. You may also assist other departments during staff leave or when they struggle to meet typing deadlines.

About You This role requires a typing speed of at least 70 words per minute. Ideally, you will have medical typing experience or be an excellent typist with an interest in the health field. High attention to detail is essential due to the nature of patient information.
