Mo te tunga | About the roleThe NZDF Medical Store holds three Ministry of Health Licences and operates as a wholesaler and medicines repacker and plays a pivotal role in supporting healthcare provision for military personnel.As the NZDF Medical Store Manager you will be responsible for leading overall operational outputs of the Medical Store, including the proactive, optimal planning and management of Medical Store production processes.
As the Medical Store Manager, your tasks will include:Managing a small team of highly trained individuals.Ensuring the Medical Store personnel comply with established procedures and processes set by the Pharmaceutical Quality System and NZDF policy.Active management of equipment and facilities to meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance.Actively participating in an established pharmacists peer group that meets regularly and contributes to continuous improvement of pharmaceutical management in NZDF.Act as controlled drug custodian including being responsible for annual returns.This role is based in Trentham Military Camp.

It is advised to apply early to avoid disappointment, as this role may close ahead of time due to a high volume of applicants.Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and ExperienceYou need to be a New Zealand registered pharmacist and hold a current APC, with a minimum of 5 years post registration experience.
You will have extensive knowledge of GMP concepts and practices, as well as experience in warehouse systems, management and best practice.
Experience with medicines packing (either retail or commercial) would also be beneficial.
You'll bring a high level and practical knowledge of appropriate legislation, regulations and standards (e.g.
Medicines Act (1981), Medicines Regulations (1984), Misuse of Drugs Act (1975), Misuse of Drugs Regulations (1977) and amendments), and be conversant with the current New Zealand Code of Good Manufacturing Practice for Manufacture and Distribution to Therapeutic Goods.Key skills to ensure success in this role also include:Proven analytical and problem solving skills.Excellent communication skills both oral and written.Respected leadership skills.A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.A focus on quality and continuous improvement.An understanding of stock control systems, ideally SAP or another similar corporate Enterprise Resource Planning tool.Please note: If you're shortlisted for an interview you will be required to provide certified copies of your qualifications including your practicing/registration certificate and a statement of good standing.
