Key Responsibilities:
? Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune- ups, to keep vehicles running smoothly and in compliance with environmental regulations.
? Identify and diagnose issues with mechanical and electrical components in engines and other vehicle parts.
? Disassemble engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for inspection and repair.
? Repair or replace worn and faulty parts and reassemble mechanical components, following service manuals as needed.
? Reassemble engines and other parts after completing repairs.
? To test and adjust repaired mechanical parts to ensure they function correctly
? Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
? Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
? Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, etc.
? Use computer systems to diagnose and test vehicle components.
? Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or provide a list of necessary repairs to achieve roadworthiness.
? Respond to service calls for vehicle breakdowns as required.
Qualifications:
? Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in vehicles.
? Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools.
? Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
? Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
? Relevant experience or qualifications are preferred.
The successful applicant must hold excellent skills for using the desired tools and equipment. Training will be provided to the right candidate.
Applicants for this position should be New Zealand Citizen/Resident or hold a valid NZ work visa.
