Rotorua Library aims to be an internationally recognised Library model infused with a strong Matauranga Maori focus influencing innovation and positive community outcomes.
We are looking for a self-starter who is fluent in te reo Maori to build and maintain relationships, with iwi, our community, schools and stakeholders in order to collaboratively develop library services that are relevant to and meet the needs of Maori. This important role will also help build and support capability across the Library and wider Council teams to contribute to an engaging environment that welcomes Maori, and reflects Maori values and Tikanga.
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Maori Studies, History or Teaching is required, as is a high level of professional commitment and self-motivation. The ability to connect with people of all ages is important as this role is involved with programmes throughout the library.
