Matatu are the Super Rugby Aupiki team representing the Crusaders and Highlanders regions in Super Rugby Aupiki. The name Matatu has been gifted to symbolise the team's tumanawa (determination), tuaho (legacy), tuhono (connection) and tutira (unity) in representing the South Island. We are currently seeking a dynamic Marketing and Events Coordinator to support our marketing initiatives and event execution throughout the 2025 Super Rugby Aupiki Season. Key Responsibilities: Marketing: Collaborate with the Digital Manager to design, create, and send EDM communications; track and optimize campaign metrics.Update the Matatu website with engaging content, including news and player information.Serve as the primary contact for external marketing partners and distribute creative assets for ticket sales and brand growth. Event Support: Assist in delivering key events, including home games, the annual awards evening, and networking events.Manage the budget for event execution and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Content Capture: Work with the digital team to create engaging social media content, including photos, videos, and basic graphic design. Media and Communications: Organize media sessions for players and coaches as directed by the Communications and Media Manager. To succeed in this role, you should have at least 12 months of experience in marketing or events management within a commercial setting. Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 is essential, along with experience in integrating safety requirements into event management plans and managing staff and contractors during event delivery. Familiarity with liaising with local councils is also important. A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable. Above all, a passion for sport, a positive and proactive attitude, and a strong work ethic with the ability to meet tight deadlines are key to your success.
