Read on!This position will involve working onboard a vessel based in the Port of Tauranga and/or Port of Wellington.Essential:Holds valid Master COC issued by an IMO-recognized authority.Must have an Advanced Tanker Endorsement and experience.Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience on a tanker vessel.Must be qualified for the position applied for.Must have valid MNZ Medical.Must pass a Drug and Alcohol test and may be required to undergo a pre-employment medical.Must provide referee names and contacts.Responsibilities:Ensuring that all vessel operations are carried out in accordance with the Company requirements.The economical operation of the vessel, ensuring that stores, equipment, and provisions are not used wastefully and that excessive inventories are not maintained on board.Responsible for the accuracy and timely submission of correspondence, records, reports, and documents required by the Company or by government agencies.Ensuring the health and welfare of the crew, conforming to government and Company regulations and standards.Designating a MLC complaints officer to receive and impartially follow up on complaints.Safe and proper conduct of operations concerning cargo/ballast handling and tank cleaning.Ensuring that the vessel is maintained, repaired, and defects are reported in accordance with Company requirements.Reporting any delays to the vessel to the Ship Manager as soon as possible.Ensuring that minimum rest periods, watch schedules, and records of work are maintained on board.Ensuring compliance with the standards contained in the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006 for seafarers under the age of 18.Implementing and complying with the ship's occupational health and safety policy and program.Ensuring all applicable circulars/bulletins received from ashore are posted in a prominent location onboard the vessel.Ensuring MLC related complaints are handled in accordance with SFSL's MLC 2006 Complaint Procedure.Silver Fern Shipping Ltd operates under an Equal Employment Opportunity Policy and encourages all interested and suitably qualified persons to submit an expression of interest.Making an application is easy!Follow the prompts here to provide application information.
