You will be joining a collaborative and expert team who are integral to the power system's ability to keep the lights on for homes, business, and communities across the motu.Taking on a key role in the group, you'll draw on commercial and contractual acumen, excellent planning, communication and stakeholder management skills, and your strategic future-focus to lead a small team at the heart of Transpower's system operator service.Externally, you will work with a range of stakeholders, including regulators, service providers, and contractual counterparties.
Internally, you and your team will partner across the wider Market Services group and other System Operator teams to coordinate commercial and contractual arrangements, including with the Electricity Authority and a range of ancillary services providers.With focus on leading the delivery of the System Operator service strategy, business planning and performance reporting, and coordinating engagements with market participants, you and your team will ensure System Operator information and documentation is accessible, useful, and current, supporting wide participation in electricity markets for energy and ancillary services.You will also provide administrative support to the wider Market Services group, including planning and tracking strategic initiatives, business and operating plans, contractual reporting, and website content.Whilst preferably and ideally Wellington based, for the ideal candidate, we are open to considering other locations where Transpower has an office.To be considered, your CV and cover letter will demonstrate:8+ years' experience in roles that include board reporting, executive engagement, and managing complex programmes of work.Significant stakeholder and relationship management skills, ideally including interfacing with senior executives, regulators, government bodies, etc.Excellent clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, including the production of formal reports to board level.Proven ability to manage a large high value contract, coupled with astute commercial relationship and negotiation skills.Navigating complex corporate environments using a combination of relationships and process, including driving continuous improvement.Tertiary degree in business, commerce, engineering, law or related discipline and relevant professional experience and/or equivalent experience.Desirable - postgrad qualification (e.g.
MBA).While not essential, knowledge of the Aotearoa New Zealand electricity market and system and an understanding of the key issues impacting the electricity industry, market, and security of supply would be advantageous.Join us at TranspowerAotearoa is powered by the people who work here.
