Albany Junior High School is a Y7-10 school on Auckland's North Shore, offering a future-focused, strength-based curriculum for emerging adolescents. We serve a diverse community whose learning and passions are enhanced through our programmes offered in our unique school environment.
We are looking for an inspiring and passionate Maori teacher to join our kura, starting term 1 2025. This role will involve teaching Te Reo Maori along with other core subject areas - through shared negotiation. Working with our Kapa haka whanau is also a desirable. Applicants must have the skill and confidence to lead our Kura in Tikanga Maori, powhiri processes and other relevant school events.

A deep understanding and active, living commitment of Te Tiriti o Waitangi with the implementation of Matauranga Maori incorporated into our school curriculum, pedagogy and culture is crucial. Attributes and characteristics to build and maintain professional and effective relationships, with high-level communication and interpersonal skills that enable the effective day-to-day management of the school is essential.
Albany Junior High School operates under the PPTA, Secondary Collective Agreement and offers a minimum of 5 non-contact hours per week.
Applicants must be well versed in the NZC, have current NZ teacher registration.
Applicants must have either NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
