Details of the offer

At Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa we believe that having access to and participating in great arts experiences is essential to New Zealanders' wellbeing and our country's unique identity. As the national arts development agency of Aotearoa, we encourage, promote and support the arts, for the benefit of all New Zealanders.
Creative New Zealand offers a positive, supportive, collaborative, and flexible working environment. We are committed to the hauora of our people and support the growth and development of our whanau in flexible, mana-enhancing ways. We offer a number of kaimahi benefits and genuinely flexible working arrangements.
We recognise Te Tiriti o Waitangi as New Zealand's founding document and are committed to supporting the role of Maori as tangata whenua of Aotearoa.
What is Nui Te Korero?
Whiria te tangata, whiria te korero / Weave the people and their stories together
Nui te Korero is Toi Aotearoa's biennial leadership conference. Nui te Korero develops the arts sector's leadership capability to adapt to the changing needs of Aotearoa and its people and build resilience for the future. Guided by Te Ao Maori values and perspectives, the biennial hui focuses on strategic challenges and opportunities for exploration and advancement.
The Maori Programming Manager is a fixed term role, responsible for managing and developing the format and content of the Nui te Korero programme within a Matauranga Maori framework and as a key member of the Project team. This role will deliver Nui te Korero in September 2025, a key Toi Aotearoa leadership and arts sector engagement event in line with CNZ's strategic outcomes and through a collaborative and consultative Waka Hourua model of engagement.
This is a fixed term, part-time role; hours are allocated as follows:
December 2024 – February 2025: 15 hours per week
March 2025 – October 2025: 25 hours per week
Alongside your lived experience working in a Maori context, you will be an experienced programming manager for events within a cultural, arts or industry organisation. Energetic, driven and a solid team player, you'll have a passion for the arts, as well as excellent budgetary and time management skills.
You will be a creative, yet logical problem-solver, with strong communication and negotiation capabilities. A high level of digital and online literacy is a must, as is an understanding of key trends and issues within the arts sector in Aotearoa. This is an exciting opportunity to be a core part of one of the creative sector's key events.
We welcome applicants from all walks of life and appreciate the richness of experience that your unique world view would bring to our whanau.
