The opportunity.This is a stimulating role for a production professional who enjoys the day-to-day action of manufacturing with the ability to lead and build production capability to achieve strategic growth.Your challenge will be to support the growth of the business through strong hands-on leadership and commitment to people and their development. To focus on the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations, striving for best practice and meeting ambitious plans for growth.You will enjoy the daily demands of health products or food processing and have a strong understanding of the key drivers in the processing and packaging of FMCG products.The role.The business is diverse in that it provides ingredients to other businesses, contract manufacturing capability, and its own branded consumer products.As Production Operations Manager, you will be responsible for operational and performance accountability within a compliance-focused environment.Specific responsibilities include:The leadership of a mid-sized team: staff development, coaching and mentoring, and performance management.Building a continuous improvement culture that embraces strong positive behavioral and teamwork traits.Responsibility for quality outcomes – meeting customer expectations, GMP standards and company guidelines and ensuring any deviations and customer complaints are owned, investigated, and rectified.Departmental financial management.Your understanding of manufacturing performance will enable you to empower the team to focus on what excellence looks like and what needs to be done to achieve it. Working to ensure the highest industry compliance requirements are maintained and delivered products are in full and on time.A focus on quality is essential as the manufacturing processes involved are technical and critical in delivering a finished product that meets required production volumes and customer expectations.Some key responsibilities in the role include:Developing performance across safety, quality, manufacturing, and engineering.Providing daily hands-on support and coaching.Delivering critical projects for business success.Managing and improving costing across the business.Strong communicator with a collaborative working style.Proven experience managing a team, willing to be closely involved in manufacturing as the plant scales up and achieves consistent quality output.What's in it for you.You will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration.
