Mo te tunga | About the role We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Principal Advisor to join our Te Tiriti and Te Ao Maori business.
This unique role will be embedded in the Fast-track Implementation team, operating at pace as the Ministry implements Fast-track approvals processes.
With the support of the Te Tiriti and Te Ao Maori team, you will leverage your expertise in Treaty settlement matters, regulatory processes, and the machinery of government to drive impactful outcomes.
Strong relationship-building skills are essential as you collaborate across government agencies to establish and embed efficient, effective processes in this high-profile area.
Key Responsibilities Lead engagement with Te Arawhiti and Te Puni Kokiri to define and align agency Fast-track processes to be in accordance with Fast Track Approvals regime and within statutory timeframes.
Develop Fast-track report processes and templates as required under the Bill.
Test, draft, and finalise reports (in conjunction with legal).
Identify risk/issues and feed into weekly reporting to senior leaders.
Lead communications planning to stakeholders on Fast-track Approvals implementation (working with engagement leads on any engagement).
Experience in writing strategic advice for Ministers and/or senior leaders.
Skilled and experienced in relationship management, effective communication, and collaborative work across diverse groups.
Agile thinking, supportive and collaborative approach focused on solutions is required.
Experience in developing robust systems and processes to meet statutory obligations.
Knowledge of Treaty settlements and other relevant agreements.
Experience working with the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act 2020 would be beneficial.
Whanuitanga Utu a-Tau | Salary range Principal Policy Advisor: $142,222 to $170,467 pa. Appointment within the range will be based on skills and experience.
