About Us: Flight Structures, based at Hamilton Airport, is a innovative and established aviation manufacturer,  holding Civil Aviation Certificates in aircraft design, certification, and manufacturing. With our current Manager moving on after six years, we are looking for a new leader to join our team. Reporting to the COO, in this role you will be overseeing our workshop and manufacturing team. You will manage day-to-day workshop operations, ensure products are produced safely and efficiently, and drive continuous improvement. This role involves working closely with other departments and leading a team of seven skilled employees. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the workshop team, ensuring that priorities are established and that staff have the necessary skills and resources to perform their roles effectively;Coordinate and manage production schedules to ensure complete and timely customer deliveries;Ensuring parts are manufactured and assembled according to CAA requirements following drawings and/or manufacturing specifications;Setting up and operating hand and automated machine tools and equipment;Estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients and managers;Manage equipment maintenance and workshop operations;Maintain accurate records of workshop activities, including production schedules, maintenance logs, and safety reports;Selecting materials, and overseeing the ordering and purchasing of materials;On site aircraft parts commissioning;Ensure quality control and compliance with safety standards.To be successful in this role you will have experience in a manufacturing environment and have strong leadership, problem solving and project management skills. You will be able to interpret engineering drawings and understand what is needed to turn these drawings into aviation products. Experience in an aviation or related field is highly advantageous, as is experience within a quality management system. Being able to communicate across the organisation is important as will strong IT skills to utilise our inventory and planning software.
