We're looking for driven and passionate students to join Heartland's paid internship programme that will run from December 2024 - January 2025.Six week paid internship programme for rangatahi Maori and PasifikaAre you at the end of Year 13 or undertaking tertiary study?Interested in exploring ways that banking and te ao Maori can help each other?What will you be doing? You'll spend six weeks working in one of our teams across various projects, learning how the business runs and the ins and outs of working in a corporate environment. You'll be supported along the journey from start to finish - your success is our success. You'll experience workshop days and guest speakers dedicated to your personal and professional development, all whilst surrounded by like-minded rangatahi Maori and Pasifika. This is a unique internship programme that will provide you with invaluable experience and significant opportunities. In many cases, our interns have progressed to graduate and permanent roles at Heartland. You'll work on projects, such as:Researching areas of our business and reporting your findingsTalking to customers on the phone to help us keep information up to dateHelping out with day to day tasksAnalysing data and informationHelping us to understand what rangatahi want to know about banking and finance and working in a corporate environmentWhat are we looking for? The most important thing we are looking for is drive and a desire to learn about what is involved in working at a bank and exploring a corporate career. You'll be curious, digitally savvy and able to think logically as well as creatively. From day one, you'll be working directly with our people across the business so ideally you will be comfortable with communicating, sharing your ideas and asking questions. A bit about us and what we do Heartland is an NZX/ASX-listed financial services group with big growth plans. Heartland owns both Heartland Bank in New Zealand and Heartland Bank in Australia. We provide award-winning savings and finance products to a diverse range of customers including business owners, farmers and retirees. Heartland's strategy is to digitalise everything we do, enabling us to provide customers with what they need in a scalable way. We can then pass those benefits onto the customer through faster service and better rates. Manawa Ako is based on the Maori concept of 'ako' which means to learn and to teach.
