Details of the offer

Make a difference in changing road user behaviour through effective enforcement
Opportunity to lead a team of regulatory experts
Drive quality and continuous improvement of safety camera enforcement activities
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity As the lead regulator for land transport, our purpose is to ensure that the system is safe, efficient, effective, and operates in the public interest. Safety is a top priority for Waka Kotahi and Te Ropu Waeture - the Regulatory Services group's aim is to improve safety and reduce the risk of harm by being a firm and fair real-world regulator. The Manager, Safety Camera System Interventions role is part of the Safety Camera System, which is responsible for operating a network of safety cameras that encourages road users to abide by road rules (such as speed limits) and contribute towards a reduction in deaths and serious injuries on New Zealand roads. The delivery of the end-to-end Safety Camera System is spread across multiple leaders and business groups in NZTA, and effective oversight is required to ensure the staff and leaders working on Safety Camera System activities work effectively together to deliver the system's strategic objectives. The role is critical to ensuring NZTA's response to non-compliance detected by safety cameras addresses harm and improves road user compliance. You will leverage your regulatory leadership experience to oversee enforcement decision-making across business groups, ensuring the enforcement response is aligned with Tu ake tu maia, NZTA's regulatory strategy. In addition, you will lead a team of regulatory experts that will respond to escalated non-compliance, ensuring that the team's application of subject-matter expertise and real-world regulatory thinking is applied effectively to the risk and complexity associated with individual non-compliances.
