Our focus is on making a difference through bold thinking, collaboration, and delivering value for the communities we serve.About the roleWe're looking for a skilled and experienced Manager to lead our newly established Risk and Information Services team. This role has been created to unite and strengthen our existing risk and information management functions. There is an opportunity to recruit into the team and build out the function as you contribute to work across the Authority, engage with and develop stakeholders at all levels. You will be working closely with senior leadership and teams across the organisation to ensure risk management is a core part of the Authority's dynamic and impactful work.Key responsibilitiesYou will support the organisation through:Setting the strategic direction for the Risk and Information Services team, aligning frameworks and initiatives with organisational goals.Developing, implementing, and enforcing robust security policies, standards, and systems to protect organisational data and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Leading the delivery of risk management frameworks and assurance programmes, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and monitored effectively.Building and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous professional growth.Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, providing expert advice to Senior Leadership, and representing the organisation in advisory and governance groups.You will bring the following:A minimum of 10 years of experience in risk, assurance and information management, with a strong track record in leading these functions.Previous experience in a CISO role with relevant qualifications.A minimum of five years in people management, with experience developing and leading high performing teams.Experience operating at a strategic level, working closely with senior decision makers.Exceptional ability to anticipate risk and to facilitate, influence and persuade.The ability to manage and work through issues that involve ambiguity and complexity.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.A proven ability to deliver and embed change in a range of environments with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders.Why work for us?The salary range for this role is $180,000 and $220,000, and we're open to negotiation with the right candidate, based on skills and experience.We support a healthy work-life balance and offer a range of benefits to support our teams.You'll also enjoy:A 3% net contribution to your Kiwisaver.Flexible working options.Ongoing training, support, and professional development to help you grow.Opportunities for career advancement.A range of health, wellbeing, and social initiatives including wellbeing and working from home allowances, access to Habit Health and EAP services for you and your whanau.Regular social events to connect with colleagues across the year.Are you interested?If you're ready for a challenge and want to help shape the future of electricity in New Zealand, click "apply now" and complete the online application form.To apply for this role, you must have a legal right to work in New Zealand at the time of submitting your application.Applications close on Sunday, 8 December 2024.We may start considering applications as they are received, so we encourage you to apply early.
