At Manatu Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
Our Research and Evaluation (R&E) Team provides a range of research and evaluation services to the Ministry of Health. We are functional leaders of R&E for the Ministry, and co-ordinate this across the agency. We provide end-to-end support for the Ministry's new R&E fund, which is designed to produce Te Tiriti and equity-focused evidence for policy and decision making. It also aims to build research and evaluation capacity and capability across the Ministry.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
You will lead a recently established team with expertise in research and evaluation to deliver R&E leadership for the Ministry, including the management of the R&E Fund. You will work collaboratively across the ERI Directorate, and lead the wider work on research prioritisation and engagement with both Ministry directorates and external agencies, e.g. ACC, Te Whatu Ora.
Minimum Requirements:
Advanced qualification in health research or equivalent experience
Experience in the health system or research sector in Aotearoa New Zealand
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
Proven success in collaborative projects
Critical thinking, prioritisation, and sound judgement
Strategic thinking and action
Creative problem-solving skills
