Manager Operational Resilience, Learning & Assurance - Northern RegionAbout this roleKotahi ano te kaupapa, ko te oranga o te iwi| There is only one purpose to our work: the wellness and wellbeing of people.As an organisation we are committed to providing an approach for the people we manage that recognises the complex and entwined histories of severe trauma, mental health issues, substance abuse, unhealthy relationships and poverty that have often contributed to their offending.Following the department's release and implementation of Te Ara Whakamua (The Pathway Forward) in April 2024, this role provides an exciting opportunity to embrace this transformational way of working.Nga kawenga | About the roleThis role reports to the Regional Director OR&S Business Partnering and is responsible for leading the Operational Resilience, Learning and Assurance Team in the Northern region, providing senior advisory and management support on any matter relating to the effective operation, service delivery and operational resilience.You will also manage a team responsible for leading secondary assurance and learning activities to support operational resilience with a focus on embedding a learning culture through reflective learning and assurance activities, both proactively and reactively when required.This is a unique chance to work across all aspects of Department of Corrections operations, therefore your stakeholder management and ability to build relationships will be invaluable.Key accountabilities will encompass:Provide advice and guidance to the Regional Director Business Partnering and operational leadership teams on any operational matter as required.Contributes to the development of regional strategies and policies as a member of the Organisational Resilience & Safety Team.Ensures the Regional Director Business Partnering and frontline leaders are kept up to date and informed on incident summaries, IR12s, or other departmental matters as applicable.Drives and enhances our people experience through our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.Ensures Kaupapa Maori principles are embedded into the design of our programmes to acknowledge the crucial importance of Te Tiriti and Hokai Rangi.Ensures in all decision-making sufficient emphasis is given to Te Tiriti o Waitangi ¦ Treaty of Waitangi.Leads safety conversations at all levels of the business and encourages staff to constantly strive to prevent accidents and situations that can lead to mental or physical harm.The successful applicant will have the proven ability to work collaboratively across the business and enjoy a diverse range of tasks. You will be able to adapt, show strong written ability and demonstrate your sound operational knowledge.The midpoint of the salary range is $160,813 and the full range (85% - 120%) is $136,692 - $192,976.
