Neighbourhood Support Christchurch Area Incorporated (NSCA) is a Charitable Trust with the vision of helping to build safe, resilient and connected communities across the Christchurch area (Otautahi Christchurch and Te Pataka o Rakaihautu Banks Peninsula).
NSCA is seeking an experienced manager to lead our organisation and drive its development and growth. In this pivotal role, you will implement our strategic plan, mission, and vision, playing a key part in making our city and surrounding areas safer, more resilient and connected place to live and work in.
You will excel in managing relationships and building networks, collaborating closely with our governance board, members, funders, sponsors, community organisations, government departments, and local bodies to achieve our vision.
In this position, you will oversee organisational growth, ensure cost-effective management, and guarantee safe operations. Recognising the value of your team, you will lead and support their development.
Our commitment to achieving our vision is made possible through a range of funding streams. You will need to understand and have prior experience working within a "for purpose" organisation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience in the For-Purpose Sector: Proven background in nonprofit or community-focused organisations.
Leadership and Management Expertise: Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing operations effectively.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.
Cultural Competence: Ability to work in a culturally safe manner, ensuring inclusivity and respect for all communities.
Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional weekends and attend evening meetings as needed.
Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial management relevant to community organisations.
Funding Application Proficiency: Confident and capable in overseeing all aspects of funding applications, from writing to reporting.
Relevant Qualifications: Management, Social Services, or Office Systems/Accounting qualifications or 7+ years of experience in within the community development sector, will be advantageous.
