At ASB, we're all about doing what we can to help our customers get "One Step Ahead" by giving them the tools they need to manage their lives and plans for their families and future.ASB Bank is seeking a dynamic and strategic Financial Crime Operations (FCO) Manager to lead one of our newly created Financial Crime Operations teams.
This role is pivotal in ensuring we uphold the highest standards of financial crime management, regulatory compliance, and customer-centric practices.About the role:In this role, you will initially be leading a new team of up to 25 casual recruits that will be helping support various projects, BAU and remediation efforts within Financial Crime Operations.
The role will evolve over time with additional responsibilities and accountabilities included as the business requires.Your key responsibilities will include:Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement, driving operational excellence and supporting the execution of the bank's strategy, policy, and risk appetite.Oversee the end-to-end management of financial crime activities, including detection, monitoring, assessment, investigation, and remediation, ensuring adherence to ASB regulatory requirements.Prioritise customer outcomes, ensuring that customer-centricity is integrated into all planning and process activities.Manage compliance and operational risk, maintaining an effective flex working and operational support model to ensure sustainability within Financial Crime Operations.Grow and develop a high-performing team, managing day-to-day workflows, addressing volume spikes, and maintaining a work environment that supports open communication and coaching.Identify and implement efficiencies in current and future processes, focusing on sustainability and risk minimisation.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring service levels and standards are consistently met.What do I need to be successful?Proven track record of leading teams, especially in engaging with a diverse range of individuals, including high-risk and difficult customers.Ability to think creatively and strategically to resolve complex issues and negotiate effectively.Strong stakeholder acumen and skills, experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders with varying requirements.Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to handle situational ambiguity and quickly resolve issues.Demonstrated capability to adapt to changing circumstances and find solutions under pressure.Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Countering Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Sanctions regulations, Transaction Monitoring, FATCA, KYC and Financial Crime Investigations.Working for ASBASB is grounded in our values (caring, integrity, passion, courage and united).
