Te Puni Kokiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Maori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for and with Maori. This includes our mandate to promote Maori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles. We have several key leadership opportunities available in our Data, Insights and Monitoring directorate.
Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity Reporting to the General Manager, Data Insights and Monitoring, the Manager, Data and Analytics is critical to ensuring the strategic positioning and role that data and analytics plays in supporting Te Puni Kokiri to become a data driven and informed organisation. It is also a critical enabler of our role as system monitors.
The Manager, Data and Analytics will use their expertise to: Lead a high performing team and support them on best practice, implementation and opportunities as they present themselves. Embed our new Azure data platform as a central repository for high quality, trusted data to support evidence informed decision making. Lead the creation and implementation of data practices appropriate to our data landscape and long-term analytics vision. Be a trusted advisor to a wide range of stakeholders who can support the development of solutions that enable Te Puni Kokiri to safely access and contribute to our own and the government's data landscape. Lead and model a strong collaborative work approach and culture. The appointment range for the Manager role is between $153,574 and $191,967 per annum and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.
Ko wai koe | About you To be successful in this role, you will have experience working in data warehousing or modern data platform environments at an enterprise level. You will have experience leading and mentoring teams. You are motivated to help others succeed and are committed to creating open, collaborative environments where all kaimahi can share knowledge and contribute. You're a people person who can easily translate complex ideas into workable delivery programmes. Experience working in hybrid agile environments is a plus. This is also a unique opportunity to work with Maori data and supporting internal and external thinking on how to apply appropriate data management approaches.
