The practice will include geospatial capability and GIS technology and data platform uplift to support the collecting, collating, curating, analysing, and displaying of geospatial data to deliver value across all areas of our strategic framework. The practice will also support existing geospatial services and products.Your confident and engaging manner and excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to quickly build effective working relationships across all levels. You will be a credible and trusted person who is actively sought out for their advice, with a collaborative approach to improving data and insight outcomes.Key responsibilities will include:Establishing and leading a new data and analytics practiceBuilding the geospatial data and analytics team, starting with two GIS analysts in the short term with potential for inclusion of other analytics domains in the longer termDeveloping and maintaining a long-term Geospatial Data and Analytics roadmap that delivers value across the organisation's strategic frameworksWorking closely with existing data teams and dependent business units within NHC Toka Tu AkeExtending the capability of the existing GIS platform and data platform to deliver on the Geospatial Data and Analytics roadmapPromoting the adoption of the geospatial and data insight servicesCoaching and supporting NHC staff to enhance existing GIS skills.Ko wai koe | About YouTo be successful in this role, you will bring:Five years' experience working in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or other geospatial technologiesLeadership experience in managing GIS projects and teams, guiding strategic initiatives, and fostering a collaborative environmentExperience of remote sensing technologies, including satellite and aerial imageryA good understanding of data management, data lifecycle, and data governance frameworksExperience with cloud platform services e.g. Microsoft Azure technologies that include SQL and PostgreSQL, API's, Azure Maps, Python and other web-based languagesGood working knowledge of API management and integrationFamiliarity with data formats and standards used in geospatial data (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML)Excellent relationship management and proven stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build confidence.Why NHC Toka Tu Ake is a great place to workNHC Toka Tu Ake recognises that our people are our greatest asset, and we prioritise staff and customer wellbeing above all else.
