You will be a trusted advisor and partner with Project Managers and delivery teams to ensure commercial outcomes are achieved while driving process and system improvements to ensure delivery of accurate and timely financial results.About the RoleThis position will report to the Chief Financial Officer.Key areas of focus will be to:Support Project Managers in commercial aspects of contract management and project deliveryExecute and complete month-end processes and generate insightful reportsEnsure financial integrity through reconciliationsAssist in budget preparation and forecastingSupport the transactional areas of the business (AP & AR) in delivering their day-to-day responsibilitiesFixed assets accounting (tangible & intangible) including additions, disposals and depreciationWork on projects with the CFO and other Accountants to improve the financial performance of the GroupReview and allocate costs to specific projects and ensure accurate project accounting, including correct treatment of revenue recognitionDrive and enhance system integrity through enhancements and process documentationEstablish and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulationsUtilise technology to streamline financial processes while driving use of data analytical tools for financial analysis and reportingSkills & ExperienceThis is a busy hands-on role within a small finance team and to succeed in this role, you will enjoy dealing with people across the business, be resilient, along with:Have a relevant accounting qualification and NZICA membership, or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years accounting experience in a commercial, construction or contracting business environmentProven financial management experienceProficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office programsExperience with ERP/MRP systems, MYOB Advanced would be an advantageProven ability to build relationships and engage with stakeholders in the businessStrong attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skillsHold self and others accountable for required work output and standardsAnalyse data/information quickly and without errorDemonstrate a broad understanding of financial management principlesAbout the BusinessNewPower Energy Services Ltd (NewPower) and sister company Infratec NZ Ltd design, build, and commission world class renewable energy projects.
