Te turanga - The role
The Finance Unit is part of The Reserve Bank of New Zealand's critical group to ensure banks' financial operations are efficient and represent value for money. The role of the Management Accountant is to work as a business partner to directorates/business units, providing accounting advice and analysis to assist with sound financial decision making.
Some of your responsibilities will include:

Assist with the co-ordination of the planning and budgeting round, including providing accounting analysis and advice to all levels of management.
Prepare the information required for the monthly and quarterly financial and management reports to Executive Leadership Team and Board, including analysing variances and ensuring the provision of meaningful explanations.
Working as a business partner to directorates/business units, provide accounting assistance and support in preparing their budgets and in recording actual costs.
Assist in the preparation of the Bank's annual Financial Statements, including providing advice on appropriate reporting approaches under generally accepted accounting practice.

You're an excellent communicator, with the ability to build relationships across multiple business groups. You're a team player and take a proactive approach with the willingness to take personal responsibility for the quality of your work.
To be successful in this role you will have:

Proven Experience as a Financial Business Partner with a collaborative approach.
In-depth knowledge of accounting standards.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical language for non-technical audiences.
An empathetic and partnering-focused approach to stakeholder engagement and management.

Experience with TechnologyOne is an advantage.

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $108,043 to $117,046 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
