We're seeking an experienced, motivated, and commercially focused Management Accountant to join our well-established team. Based in Hawke's Bay, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and excels in delivering valuable insights through quality analysis and reporting. As a pivotal member of our finance department, you will report directly to the TW Trades CFO and collaborate closely with the senior leadership of the Civil and Infrastructure business. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping our financial strategy and guiding decision-making processes, thereby significantly influencing the direction and success of our organisation.
As Management Accountant you will:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review
Conduct cost analysis and profitability studies to support business operations
Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage departmental budgets
Monitor financial trends and recommend improvements to enhance financial performance
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, regulations, and internal controls
Have good all-round commercial and contractual knowledge including understanding of project financials
Have strong interpersonal skills to hold project managers accountable effectively
Ideally have experience in Construction or Civil and Infrastructure industries
Requirements:
An Accounting degree (CA ANZ membership or CIMA / AFA qualification would be ideal but not essential)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
Experience managing Work In Progress (WIP) and accruals is essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Experience in developing Capex business cases is highly preferred
Proven analytical skills and the ability to communicate analysis across a range of different stakeholders
Sound knowledge of the fundamentals of accounting, i.e., journals, debits and credits, etc.
Be very organised, have great time management skills, with the ability to prioritise
