Company Accountant (Circa $120K - $135K)

This is a great opportunity to join a company that owns a diverse group of investments, with one of their significant portfolios based here in Hawkes Bay. If you are a qualified accountant who is expert in financial accounting and reporting, and capable of guiding a small accounts team, we would love to hear from you.

You will sit amongst a finance and admin team here in Hawkes Bay and be reporting to a Senior Finance Manager who is based out of the region. All the tools are set up that link you to the wider corporate team. Your core focus will be to assist the Senior Finance Manager with meeting reporting obligations and to help lead the accounting management of their group assets.

You will inherit a well-oiled finance department with great systems and processes. We need your accounting smarts and expertise to ensure ongoing accuracy and consistency of the reporting processes across the team. We need someone who is prepared to get hands-on, assisting with month-end processes to produce timely financial results, and assisting with balance sheet reconciliations. You will also have oversight of payroll. You will play a key role in assisting the business partnering of managers to understand and evaluate operating costs, trends, and forecasts.

You must have a good track record in financial accounting, be CA qualified, and have relatability to producer-based environments. You'll need to be technically competent in transactional accounting detail but also be keen to help make process improvements and analyse the numbers. Exposure and relatability to stock-based operations, manufacturing, production, and value-add operations will be highly regarded. You will be able to balance workflow and priorities across financial accounting processes and have proven experience in data reporting and reconciliation. An approachable, pragmatic style, open communication skills, and a high level of initiative will see you feeling right at home.
