Management Accounting & Budgeting (Accounting)Full timeYour RoleAs our Management Accountant, you'll be the financial backbone of our agency, working closely with our Finance Director to ensure precision and efficiency in our financial operations, and alongside our experienced AP/AR Administrator to ensure we are working cohesively and comprehensively as a team. This position would suit an experienced Accountant looking to take the next step, or an existing Management Accountant looking for more ownership and responsibility in their role.Specific tasks and responsibilities include:Overseeing month-end processing, assisting where needed to ensure quick turnaround of monthly accountsFinalising and checking monthly management accounts against budgetBalance sheet reconciliationMonth-end performance reporting using project management systemManagement of tax deadlines and returns (GST, PAYE, NRWT)Monthly job reconciliation and job closures (JCRs)Being the go-to person for general finance enquiriesSet up & training new staff in Accountability (finance & project management system)Assist in setting and managing overhead expense budgetsAnalysis of financial data, client and job data, and compilation into spreadsheets and visual reports for use to advise management and partners to assist in making business decisionsEnsuring accuracy of financial information, and that all statutory compliances are metProviding advice and support to our experienced AP/AR Administrator as/when needed. Backup to the wider Finance team as neededSkills & ExperienceTo succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldA minimum of 3-4 years' experience in an Accountant/Senior Accountant position in a SME environmentStrong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solvingExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and leadershipFlexible and adaptable to handle diverse financial tasks and responsibilities effectivelyThis role is office-based, with the opportunity to work from home one day per week once established in the role.
