Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora – Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District Location : Wellington and Kenepuru Hospital Service : Radiology Services Contract : Permanent, Full time Salary : As per PSA MECA Korero mo te turanga – About the role The Mammography Unit Charge MIT (Mammographer/Diagnostic Radiographer) is the leader of the Mammography team and as such will manage day-to-day operations, support and give direction to Mammographers and trainee Mammographers.
The unit charge is an important member of the Management team within the department consisting of the Clinical leader, Operations manager and respective unit charges.
The Management team are supportive of each other and we meet at least weekly and work together to try to work through our challenges and make the most of our opportunities.
While this is advertised as a full-time role, we may have some flexibility for the right candidate who cannot commit to a full five-day week and encourage you to reach out for a chat about your situation.
Mo to matou ropu – About our team The Unit charge is an essential part of the Radiology Management team and wider Breast services teams within the hospital and district.
The breast team work mainly from Wellington hospital with some services provided at Kenepuru hospital.
The Breast team within the department are a close-knit team largely led by the Unit charge with a strong day-to-day interactions and relationships with Breast Radiologists, Radiographic Assistants and Breast Services (including surgery) and the wider department/hospital.
As a department, Radiology Services provide a wide range of diagnostic and interventional imaging for CCHV and adjacent regions, including Angiography, CT, Fluoroscopy, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and General Radiography.
The service is multi-disciplinary, employing Radiologists, Nurses, Administration Support Staff, Medical Imaging Technologists (MITs) and Sonographers.
The Radiology department is a training institution for Radiology Registrars, MITs and Sonographers.
Mou – About you Are you looking for a step up or a new challenge and are passionate about improving Breast imaging in the district?
The ideal candidate would have a good level of experience in Mammography and be keen to get involved in Breast services.
Good communications skills, a problem solving attitude and passion for patient care are all ideal attributes.
