The Opportunity
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this is position oversees all site maintenance, manages asset reliability, and contributes to capital projects on site. With maintenance and electrical team of around 15 on site, this role will manage planned and breakdown maintenance but key to your success in the position is the style in which you manage, mentor and support your team. This role will not suit an office-based manager. Instead, you'll be a 'visible' team contributor, able to lead from the front but empower your team to make their own considered decisions, providing an open forum for discussions around continuous improvement and plant reliability. Please note, this role is based in Hastings. Requirements
As a suitable candidate, you will have an appropriate trade or engineering degree qualification, with a solid background in hands-on plant and services maintenance, preferably within the food, dairy or similar manufacturing environment. From there you will have led/mentored teams, been involved in evolving plant reliability, and had input into capital project work (ideally managing these). But just as critical will be your input into developing your team and maintaining a positive work culture – this means leading from the front and being 'present' and visible for your team while allowing them to enable their own confidence to grow too.
Ideally our clients are looking for someone with:
Trade OR tertiary engineering qualificationSignificant hands-on plant engineering experience preferably within the food industryDeveloped maintenance management skills including planning and reliability improvementProven leadership/mentoring experienceCapital projects experienceHigh-level computer skillsDeveloped communication skills, someone who can communicate with team members and external stakeholders alike
On Offer
In return, our client offers a supportive environment, competitive remuneration, 10% bonus, and, as part of the site management group, the opportunity to be involved with strategic development of the site. This is your opportunity to join a highly regarded and hugely successful company, and move to the idyllic Hawkes Bay, in time to enjoy the summer weather.
