Our team sees every aspect of the hospitality industry, whilst gaining a unique experience that develops their career and can be transferred when they are ready for the next exciting adventure.The Hermitage hotel is looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary maintenance team who provide 24/7 maintenance cover for our extensive complex. The Hermitage comprises 255 guest rooms, circa 175 staff rooms, five restaurant outlets, plus the surrounding buildings and grounds.Reporting to our onsite Project Manager, this is a varied role, comprising team leadership, technical skill in electrical & engineering systems, and based in the unique landscape of Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. The ideal candidate will be guest-focused, able to collaborate, and looking to continually improve both process and service.What you will be doingLeading the team to deliver a 24/7 service, including recruitment, onboarding, development, performance management, and rostering.Triaging jobs raised and planned maintenance tasks across our hotel rooms, motels, lodge, and staff accommodation, to promptly address issues and deliver a positive guest and employee experience.Ensuring all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems are maintained and used as outlined in department SOPs.Ensuring a high standard of health, safety, and hygiene is maintained, recorded, and reported.Liaising with key stakeholders, including the Department of Conservation, Contractors, and Suppliers.What you will bring to the roleA minimum of six months experience in HVAC, generators, and mechanical systems, or similar.Prior experience in property maintenance.A full clean NZ Driver's license as a minimum.Experience building, developing, and leading teams.Demonstrable experience in collaborating, adapting, and prioritizing.A strong desire to strive for excellence.The role and benefitsFulltime, permanent position, minimum 80 hours per fortnight.Annual salary $90,000 - $110,000 based on experience.Accommodation in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park at reasonable rent including power and Wi-Fi.Free access to all activities offered by the Hermitage Hotel, along with generous discounts on food and beverage, available from your first day on the job.Discounted hotel accommodation for Friends and Family.At the Hermitage, Aoraki / Mount Cook Alpine Village, we offer more than just a place to work – we offer a career lifestyle experience.
