Westland Milk Products is a well-known New Zealand end-to-end dairy manufacturer based in the beautiful South Island. About the role: Based in Christchurch (Hornby) and reporting to the Head of Logistics Management, we are looking for a new Logistics Planner to join our diverse and dedicated Supply Chain team. This role will be responsible for the efficient planning and timely execution of the logistics function, as well as having the ability to contribute to the allocations process within our end-to-end supply chain. The Logistics Planner will also carry out other inventory and transport optimization duties including forecasting, risk assessment and process improvement initiatives and the role is critical in ensuring we have the right product, in the right place, at the right time.
More specifically, responsibilities will include: Planning and executing efficient and cost-effective logistics movements for finished goods and packaging and ingredients Coordinating and communicating with internal and external logistics providers and carriers to ensure products are delivered in full on time Inventory allocation to support the ship out process and allocating product within our sales order system - Oracle EBS and Scale Ensuring product has met all eligibility and testing requirements prior to release Managing FG & SLOB (finished goods and slow moving obsolete) inventory Assisting with the planning of forecasted sales orders Our successful applicant will likely possess: Prior experience in a logistics planning role or similar Strong attention to detail and well-developed relationship building and communication skills A high level of competency with MS Excel and an affinity for data analysis The ability to problem solve effectively and display sound decision-making skills A proactive, analytical and logical approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities What's in it for you?
