We are looking for a Construction Mechanic based in Christchurch, New Zealand.
About youYou will be the face of the Otis brand and responsible for installing lifts, escalators, and travellators in compliance with the relevant codes and Otis specifications and procedures.
This role will report to the Construction Project Manager and work closely with other Installers, Electricians, Adjusters, Field Engineers, and Construction Coordinators.
Permanent and Full-time roleWorking hours - 40 hours a weekLocationThis role is based in Christchurch.
The Project Manager will assign you 2-3 jobs weekly with various customers within your area.
Key benefitsRobust compensation and benefits packages Be part of the Forbes 2024 World's Best Employers.Meaningful career opportunities for people to grow through excellent Learning programs.Otis offers training and development programs that are highly regarded both within the elevator industry and beyond.Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation and Modernisation of lifts, escalators, and travelators and work to the highest safety and environmental standards while ensuring that service targets are met.Maintain company tools, equipment, and materials in good order and safeguard such property.Perform work in accordance with the relevant lift industry codes and standards.Comply with the company's Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures, including reporting any conditions that may impact on the environment or any employee.Maintain and work on the Quality SystemAttend customer handing over inspection/service inspections on installation and modernization projects.Ensure timely completion of defects identified during service / handing over inspection in coordination with the Project Manager.Identify process improvement opportunities and help facilitate continuous improvement to satisfy the customers of your processes.What you will need to be successful3 years experience working as a construction/installation mechanic (Lift Installer) in the elevator/escalator industry.Experience working with Otis products and equipment is preferredProven ability to work safely as part of a team or independently, depending on requirements.Enjoys communicating with various levels of stakeholders and working closely with others in the field.Solutions-oriented, independent, and well-organized.Willing to travel in & out of the region and able to work unsupervised.Has the ability to perform knowledge transfer on information and skills through training.Able to plan and prioritize tasks and complete in a timely manner.Our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion We "lift" our people to their highest potential.
