The Opportunity As a Weekend Lifeguard, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for Defence Force personnel, their families, and the public.
This position is primarily weekends only Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 5pm, with the possibility of covering shifts during leave or sickness.

Key Responsibilities Provide continuous monitoring of activities in swimming areas to prevent incidents and assist swimmers, ensuring compliance with the Rules of Use.
Conduct ongoing assessments of risks while the pool is in use and report any issues.
Maintain pool cleanliness and water quality to meet required standards at all times.
Report damage and overall maintenance requirements for the facilities.
Control and maintain allocated stores, consumables, and equipment.
Perform general housekeeping and cleaning of the overall facility.
Greet all visitors to the pool in a friendly and polite manner, following guidelines provided by PAE and NZDF.
Verify the identity of all individuals entering the pool area, ensuring they possess an official identity card (as required by NZDF).
Monitor Health & Safety procedures for both PAE pool staff and pool users.
Document all accidents, near misses, and hazards by the end of your shift.
Adhere to PAE and NZDF Health and Safety Plans, including the use of all personal protective equipment supplied.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of new services.
What We're Looking For We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who take pride in their work and demonstrate a commitment to safety and community service.
While prior experience (including a PLPC certificate) is advantageous, it is not required, as our comprehensive training program will equip you with the skills you need.
