It is a place where we stand up for each other.
A place that is proudly distinctive.
We'll be celebrating all this and more as the "rebel borough" when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way.
Haringey's people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion.
Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused.
These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.
About the Role The Private Sector Housing Team is based within Regulatory Services.
We are part of a wider Community Safety and Enforcement Service within the directorate of Environment and Resident Experience.
Like many other boroughs, Haringey faces significant challenges with its housing sector.
We have an ambitious housing strategy which aims to use all of the levers at our disposal to improve housing in Haringey.
Haringey's Private Rented Sector is now the largest housing sector in the borough and we are striving to improve this sector using our regulatory and enforcement powers.
Our private sector housing team is responsible for dealing with complaints from tenants in relation to their rented properties.
We have two active property licensing schemes in addition to Mandatory HMO licensing within our borough which are integral to delivering better quality private rented accommodation.
A Licensing scheme for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) and Selective property licensing.
The property licensing functionality is now the main driver for improving property conditions.
We aim to support compliant landlords and take clear and robust action against non-compliant landlords and support tenants in undertaking enforcement action to provide safe, comfortable accommodation that is free of Cat 1 hazards as defined in the Housing Act 2004.

We need people who want to make a difference to people's lives, who are caring and courageous and can bring a strong work ethic.
This role involves working multi-agency to achieve the team's performance outcomes and wider Licensing projects objectives.
An effective team player with a track record of developing positive relationships with colleagues, managers, and partners.
