Our Palmerston North Branch (which covers Manawatu & Horowhenua) requires part-time and casual Security Officers for work in several high-profile public-facing environments.
About the role:
We are looking for individuals who have great customer service communication skills, who can on occasion manage sometimes difficult customers.
As a crucial guardian of public safety, a strong focus of this role is to be willing, able, and confident to work with people from all walks of life, different cultures, and ages, from youth to the elderly.
You will play a vital role in providing essential security services, ensuring the security of high-profile client's infrastructure, staff & visitors, prevention of trespassing & vandalism, among other offences that may occur on these sites. Being deployed between different sites during your shift requires that you have a reliable vehicle. This is essential.
Mandatory Requirements:
Applicants must consent to, and be able to satisfy, pre-employment requirements to progress through the recruitment process. As a minimum these will include the following checks:
Driver Licence
Credit
Ministry of Justice Criminal History Checks
Immigration
Live in the Manawatu area
Legally entitled to work in New Zealand
Hold current COA Certificate of Approval preferred or Armourguard can assist
Articulate, with a comprehensive understanding of the written and spoken English language
Cultural awareness and understanding are a must
Our Ideal Candidate:
Must be able to work rotating rostered shifts (days & nights, including weekends & public holidays)
Good calming can-do attitude with a proactive approach
Have reliable transport to get you to and from sites
We are looking for individuals who have strong self-awareness & influential presence in situations
Display a high level of professionalism and personal presentation
Be customer-focused with the ability to deal with a range of situations and people from adults to youth.
Display excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). The ability to communicate effectively in English is a must. Fluency in other languages is an additional bonus.
Be trustworthy, punctual, and reliable.
Display maturity, common sense, & initiative.
Be physically fit as there will be innumerable amounts of walking involved.
