In this role, you will provide legal guidance across projects throughout New Zealand and Australia, collaborating with procurement and project teams to ensure efficient contract negotiations, mitigate risks, compliance and regulatory adherence.Your duties will include, but are not limited to:Legal Advice & Compliance: Provide legal guidance on construction legislation, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property protection across Australia, New Zealand, and the APAC region.Dispute Resolution: Support dispute resolution processes, manage external legal services, and assist with contractual and statutory claims.Contract Management & Risk Mitigation: Advise on Joint Ventures, assist with contract negotiations, and collaborate with teams to mitigate legal and contractual risks, ensuring INTEC's interests are protected.Training & Documentation: Deliver legal training to procurement and project teams, and assist in developing a database of legal documentation, templates, and contractual obligations for projects.Project Support & Obligations: Prepare matrices for client and INTEC obligations, and assist with contractual correspondence, claims, and insurance management.Corporate Legal Support: Assist senior management with corporate legal matters.Qualifications and experience:In-House Legal Experience: At least 5+ years of in-house legal counsel experience, with exposure to Australian legal frameworks preferred. A current New Zealand Practicing Certificate is required.Construction Law Expertise: Strong background in construction law, with experience managing Head Contract and Sub-Contract agreements and providing legal support in procurement and project delivery.Negotiation & Drafting Skills: Proven ability to negotiate and draft complex legal agreements, ensuring they align with business objectives and legal requirements.Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Solid understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to interpret and apply legal concepts to practical business situations.Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving: Exceptional research skills, attention to detail, and the ability to resolve complex legal issues, with a focus on delivering clear and practical legal solutions.We are looking for a candidate with a positive, proactive, and self-motivated attitude, who takes ownership of their work and demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility.
