Employing over 10,000 people in NZ, McDonald's is a market leader in its field striving for the highest standard of quality, speed and restaurant experience. About the role
This is a newly created, part time role for a positive, pragmatic and enthusiastic lawyer with property law expertise. This role will suit either a specialist property lawyer (looking to broaden skills) or a generalist commercial lawyer with some property law expertise. The legal team is cohesive, highly valued and effective and while a key focus of the role will be on property law matters, there is also the opportunity to be involved in a broader range of legal work.
In particular, you will review and prepare all real estate transaction documents (in conjunction with external lawyers) and provide input on all construction, building and property related issues including rent reviews, lease renewals and maintenance matters. The broader scope of legal work is incredibly expansive and includes commercial contracts, marketing & advertising approvals, data protection & privacy matters, franchising, IT/digital projects, corporate governance, IP protection, HS&E, competition law and regulatory matters.
What we are looking for
Qualified lawyer with NZ practising certificate (or eligibility to hold one)
Mid to senior level PQE with previous property law experience
General commercial law experience or ability/enthusiasm to adapt to broader legal areas
Sound commercial judgment in assessing and balancing legal risks
A practical, pragmatic and collaborative approach to problem solving
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and make decisions with confidence in a business that moves at pace
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels
An enthusiastic, approachable and positive style.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a fun and energetic work culture that nurtures growth and development and where there is a strong sense of teamwork, purpose and camaraderie. You'll be someone who enjoys working in a close-knit, high performing team where you will work directly with a wide range of business stakeholders to help find practical solutions and actively contribute to business success. A highly engaged, exciting and friendly environment is on offer along with a range of generous benefits including potential STI, health insurance, wellness allowance, additional annual leave entitlements and flexible work options.
For a confidential discussion about this opportunity, please contact Jennifer Williams at Williams Legal Recruitment on 027 220 8003.
