Job Description
We are looking for a Legal & Corporate Affairs Manager to support the growth agenda in our South-Central (SCE) business units (Romania, Greece, Bulgaria).
The Legal & Corporate Affairs (LCCA) Manager will be responsible for all legal, compliance & corporate affairs matters in our 3 markets. He/she will guide the business to ensure that relevant legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures, are complied with at all levels of our organization, as well as provide guidance on compliance matters.
Together with our Corporate Affairs Specialist (direct report), the LCCA Manager will coordinate all external communication and governmental affairs matters for our markets, ensuring our strategy is brought to life in a clear and consistent manner, and that external factors including sustainability and reputational image become positive contributors to our company profile.
Within the broader Europe Legal and Corporate Affairs team, he/she will play a key role in shaping the legal and corporate affairs strategy, as well as building the future of our capabilities and ways of working.
He/she is a member of the SCE management team and reports to the Director Legal & Corporate Affairs Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure our business is compliant with applicable laws & regulations, in particular focusing on Customer Negotiations and Sales/Distribution Contracts, Marketing & Shopper Marketing support, and Legal & Compliance Risk Management.
Manage local team, external law firms, public affairs firms, and budget.
Design and implement annual training sessions for our teams on legal, compliance and corporate affairs topics such as Competition Law Essentials, GDPR, PPWR, EUDR etc
Manage local litigations and compliance matters.
Offer local support to our teams for crises and incidents, as well as consumer complaints.
Act as first point of contact for corporate affairs & external communications topics.
Represent JDE in legal committees and trade associations

For this role as the Legal & Corporate Affairs Manager SCE, we're looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:
Licensed in Law;
Min. 5 years of gaining relevant commercial, compliance and corporate experience in Romania, Greece or Bulgaria, with an established law firm and/or in-house legal department.
In depth knowledge of legal requirements regarding manufacturing, advertising, distribution of FMCG products, competition law and contracts.
Preferred but not mandatory: experience in Corporate Affairs/Corporate Communications and broad understanding of FMCG sustainability issues.
Excellent command of English and ideally one of the languages in SCE – Romanian, Greek, Bulgarian.
Relevant IT and Legal Tech skills.
Strong stakeholder management skills, able to partner with various internal and external stakeholders.
Practical business approach to law, seeking to turn legislative and regulatory events into opportunities to gain a competitive advantage.
