Legal Assistants and Law Clerks - Personal Injury Law (Transport Accidents/TAC)Gordon Legal is a firm with a difference, defined by its commitment to social justice and exemplary legal assistance. We're thrilled to announce exciting opportunities for legal support staff at our Northcote office's Transport Accident (TAC) practice. We're looking for experienced, passionate, and dedicated Legal Assistants and Law Clerks, with roles available at all levels, to join our full-time team. If you're eager to make a meaningful impact and grow with us, we'd love to hear from you.Job tasks and responsibilitiesProvide high-level legal administrative and practice management support to the Partner and Lawyers in the Transport Accident (TAC) team and our clients;Draft court documents, prepare/compile briefs, court books, schedules, letters, and correspondence;File court documents on Citec, Redcrest, and Magistrates Court portal;Manage diary, email, and tasks;Arrange meetings and appointments;Liaise with clients, law firms, barristers, court staff, insurers, doctors, and other third parties;Develop and maintain billing and invoicing systems;General file management and work with the lawyer to advance files and achieve optimal file velocity;Develop, refine, and maintain practice management systems and processes;Monitor critical dates to ensure deadlines are met;Handle telephone, general enquiries, and requests from clients;Maintain data records and generate reports;Open and close files.Skills and experienceAt least 3 years of personal injury law experience is essential;Empathetic, confident, and personable with a genuine interest in Personal Injury Law;Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;High level of professionalism, exceptional client service skills, and ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care;Superior organisational and task management skills, ability to manage conflicting priorities and respond to rapidly changing needs of a fast-paced practice;Ability to confidently and professionally communicate with clients, referrers, health professionals, courts, barristers, lawyers, and government agencies;Technology-savvy and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications;Ability to show initiative;An interest in contributing to developing, maintaining, and refining systems and processes within the practice.Why Gordon Legal?When you join Gordon Legal, you join a progressive, hardworking, and passionate team renowned for making a positive impact through meaningful and memorable work.How to applyIf you want to join an innovative firm and engage in meaningful work that allows you to fulfil your professional purpose, click 'Apply' and include your cover letter and CV.
