Our vision is to promote, grow and sustain Maori language, knowledge, and culture, according to tikanga Maori practice.This is an exciting time to be part of Maori and indigenous scholarship, and our success relies on the excellence of our people and our connection to the communities that we serve.We are seeking applications for two Lecturer - Kai Oranga positions located in Hastings in order to provide iwi, hapu and whanau with an opportunity to have the Kai Oranga programmes delivered in their rohe.The programmes delivered include the Certificates in Kai Oranga level three and level four. The programmes have mixed mode delivery including maara kai practicum, online tutorials, classroom activities, eLearning, assessment and evaluation, and Wananga/marae based noho marae.We expect applicants to have:Adult teaching experienceExperience in the delivery of the prescribed Kai Oranga programmesA diploma in horticulture or relevant qualification or equivalent relevant work experience in the area of rongoa, horticulture or maara kaiPermaculture design certificate or evidence of current study toward a permaculture qualificationAn adult teaching certificate is desirableUnderstanding of, and experience using Maori organic and sustainable gardening and food growing practiceKnowledge and experience using permaculture approach to maara kai practiceNetworks with one or more marae, and with iwi, hapu, whanau and/or community groupsKnowledge of tikanga Maori, and at least intermediate level Te Reo Maori skills.We offer a supportive working environment with ongoing professional development and welcome candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
