Lecturer - Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) Level 7Are you a qualified ECE teacher with an interest in mentoring, giving back to the sector, and developing the next generation of ECE professionals?The Early Childhood Team at UCOL Te Pukenga has an exciting opportunity available!We are looking for a full-time permanent Early Childhood Education and Care Lecturer based on our Whanganui campus, teaching mainly on our Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) and associated programmes. This role would suit a passionate individual keen to support students and see them succeed and enter the ECE profession as a registered teacher.As a member of UCOL's Early Childhood Team, you will have the ability to inspire others to pursue and achieve their goals by offering them quality teaching and guidance. You will engage, support, and motivate the students to achieve their qualification, the first step to achieving their ambition.The successful applicant will be responsible for:Development and delivery of learning material at a degree level, both leading and facilitating student learning.Maintaining appropriate academic and practicum placement records and Children Act checks to meet faculty, teaching council requirements and ensure high quality standards.Proactively developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships within the industry.Undertaking assessment within a placement/practicum environment.Pastoral and academic support of students - tracking progress and providing support where needed.Interest in/actively engaged in research.Support programme marketing initiatives, showcasing career opportunities, and support student entry into the programme.Qualifications and skills we are looking for:Experience teaching in an early childhood setting and/or tertiary teaching experience in the area of Early Childhood.Have completed a Masters qualification, or have a commitment to completing this.Solution focused and process driven.Ability to adjust communications style to different audiences.High level negotiation skills and proven ability to reach agreement.Sound judgment and decision making amongst competing demands.Ability to link long-range visions and strategies to current activity.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.NZ Full driver's licence.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa and may be required to undergo pre-employment checks, which may include completing New Zealand Police Vetting as part of The Children's Act 2014.
